The challenge
Moving beyond Qlik for simpler, self-serve analytics
Spock wanted to migrate their daily analytics and dashboard tool, Qlik, to increase data-driven decision making by enhancing simplicity and self-serve analytics. Their goal was to use a tool better suited to their GCP structure, with faster, more intuitive functionality tailored to the daily analytics needs of business users to assure company-wide adoption.
The solution
Migrating dashboards to Looker and training the team
Astrafy led the migration of Qlik dashboards to Looker, covering customer profiling, Google Ads, and Google Analytics dashboards, as well as a customer lifetime value report. We bootstrapped Looker, collaborated closely with each business owner to thoroughly define analytical needs and design customized dashboards. Lastly, we trained their team on Looker to empower their team to use it.
Results
Doubled adoption and lower BigQuery costs
Spock duplicated user adoption from Qlik to Looker after the migration, enabling their team to access the already-made reports and perform self-serve analytics to satisfy their team's needs without technical expertise. Besides, the cost was reduced from BigQuery thanks to the optimizations performed on the ingestion and partitioning of tables, saving up to 65% on daily BigQuery costs.
